As a Caramac devourer and a WH Smith frequenter of the 70's I can honestly say they were the good old days! Another good read and now I'm stuck with a craving for Caramac that's going to niggle at me all day!
Franks & Leiberg’s weren’t really my thing but WH Smith, now that was a shop worth visiting, they had everything you could want, to go in and be assaulted by so many products that you could pick up & look at without having to swipe right or left, you just went to the counter. Seems a wonderful way to shop.
Beyond brilliant! You just took me straight back to Franks where my mum bought me my first floral Berlei trainer bra! What a fantastic article to wake up to! Thanks. X
Loved the nostalgia and I still go to WH Smith’s with my Grandchildren.Btw I was probably at Felixstowe that year .

Sorry, I disagree. Whenever I went into Madame Leiberg, they were always charming!!
They would have sold ice to eskimos.

Again Susan a great piece!!!
It brings me back 43 years ago when I first arrived in the UK. Xxx
Very good read even though I cannot personally empathise with the Franks and Leiberg experience. Didn't know that bra shopping was so traumatic.
If you had breasts the world would appear a different place to you.
I absolutely loved reading every word of this ..
Reliving the past and fearing for the future.
Well done you
