As I watch video film of Gazan men protesting against Hamas control, my first thoughts are; it’s a performance.
A good one, with a heart lifting script. Maybe even hopeful. But is it genuine?
Posting scenes of hotheaded Arab men shouting repetitive slogans on Instagram is as easy as feeding it to the BBC. Excuse my cynicism, but from Hamas casualty numbers to their ongoing theft of Jewish identity, Gaza is the La La Land of the Middle East where truth is a concept bent to fit an altered reality. As if Lewis Carroll’s Adventures in Wonderland were set somewhere in Arab history. Alice still falls down a rabbit hole but now she claims it as her own, and immediately raises a Palestinian flag. Despite strict rules against such sinful behaviour, she drinks a mind altering cocktail, has unchaperoned tea with an armed gang led by a mad hatted Mullah, and cavorts through this new land, waving a placard accusing the indigenous people of apartheid and colonialism. Eventually she meets the Red Queen who orders Islamic justice … an honour killing for poor Alice. And after the Queen’s loyal Hamas fighters chop off Alice’s head they throw it to the cheering crowd for a friendly game of football.
The very same cheering crowd who would normally celebrate such atrocities. But now they are crying in the streets. Those same Palestinians who previously danced on abused, dead Israelis. These people who allowed their children to be wrapped in plastic sheeting and play at death for the cameras of Pallywood. The same people who embrace martyrdom and virgins in murder
by suicide vest. The people who delighted in rape and mutilation. Who showed no shame or mercy. They who send their beloved children to throw stones and rocks at soldiers. We are meant to believe that these previously voiceless protesters are suddenly vocal, that they are publicly withdrawing support for Hamas. Let’s not forget how the people wanting an end to Hamas and war, cheered on October 7. In 538 days not a single one of them has attempted to free a hostage or tried to claim the enormous reward offered for doing so. Why should we believe them now?
Hamas may not be wiped from this earth but they are weakened and hurting. Trump flames rather than douses Israel’s fire. Hamas leaders are dying in targeted attacks, and the terror group need breathing space to re-arm and re-group. Is the sudden urge for protest a real cry for help or just a means of Hamas achieving some darker aim? With Israel suffering its own political turmoil is this just a ruse to stir and further divide the sympathies of a democratic but troubled nation?
I asked AI for names of citizens who oppose terror in Gaza and from a population of 2.23 million it gave me just two. Neither seemed likely as organisers of the current public protest. This leaves a few possibilities, it really is as claimed, a grass roots uprising prompted by a shady group of Palestinian families called the ‘clans.’ Fatah are actively recruiting in an attempt to remove Hamas from opposition, or Iran is meddling where it should not. Whichever is true, the internal repercussions for Gazans will likely be a bloody and brutal jostling for power.
I’d like to be wrong. But am I? Today, ‘peace’ protester Amal Kloub from Shuja’iyya said, ‘Hamas has been in power for nearly 20 years and we have only experienced successive years of wars due to the blockade and occupation.’ He appears to be blaming Israel for the Palestinians failure to flourish under the leadership of a vile, misogynistic terror gang who rule with mindless violence. And what of his reference to occupation? Amal doesn’t mean of Gaza, he means the State of Israel, in his mind Israel is occupying a land that he was falsely educated to believe was stolen. A fantasy strongly believed, not only by Palestinians but also by university students who despite their western education, are terrifyingly stupid. It’s an inconvenient truth that Jews have lived on the land since a thousand years before Islam existed. The Nation even received the rare blessing of the UN who voted in favour of their independence. In summary; ‘peace’ protester Amal Kloub is saying Hamas weren’t strong enough to bring about change, which for him and most Palestinians will always mean the total elimination of Israel and its people.
Great read 👏👏👏♥️🇮🇱💙
A good read...although less good for the demonstrator who has since been murdered by Hamas (no big surprise). We, Israel, or should I say the elected leaders, have been naïve in assuming that the money given over to Hamas throughout the years would keep them quiet. Somewhat of a miscalculation. If there was a time for the Gazans to rebel against Hamas now would be the perfect time...
